Looks are deceiving

Looks can be deceiving

Doesn't he look like such a little angel sitting there at the dinner table enjoying a nice family dinner??? Well let me tell you...A couple of nights ago during one of our not so pleasant dinners, Chase was having a temper tantrum about something and he threw his fork down and stabbed me in the toe. Not only did he stab me but he drew blood no less!! I don't understand why feeding a toddler has to be so difficult. If he likes something and eats it without difficulty why less than 2 days later does he suddenly not like it anymore. When I dreamed of motherhood I never pictured myself catching so much half chewed slobbery food in my hands so that it doesn't get tossed on the floor or thrown across the room. Mmmmm yum! Chris may be more patient when it comes to meal times but don't let him kid you. He does not do so well with the food coming back out. Needless to say I don't think I ever saw him catching the returns. I have discovered that if he is really hungery he is much more willing to eat what we give him hassel free. I know, I know, the power play and the battle of wills is all normal. At least that is what my friends with older kids tell me. Unfortunately according to them it doesn't get any better the older they get. I think I need an appetizer of Xanax!
